Osman Shinger

Osman Shinger, journalist and author, studied media at Omdurman Islamic University in Omdurman, Sudan, and graduated in the early 1990s. He is one of the most prominent journalists in the cultural field and was the supervisor of the 'Al-Ayyam' newspaper cultural file for many years. He also worked for several newspapers and was chief editor of three newspapers. He has published a collection of short stories, and he is now the deputy secretary-general of the Sudanese Writers Union and an online editor at ‘Al-Shoroog’ television station in Khartoum. He has been involved with ‘The Niles’ project since its inception in 2009, and he has contributed several reports on important political, cultural and social issues.
