SOFT RAINS

Everything that night
was decaying,
shaking,
like a lonely leaf
beaten by a merciless wind,
as if hell’s gates
had thrown wide open,
pouring molten lava,
birthing monstrosities
no one could evade.

Frightened, desperate,
I ran to the balcony,
indifferent to all,
wishing only
to escape this vanity.
Yet an aura of insanity
surrounded me;
every scream
piercing deep inside.
I held my head so tight—
where could my torn soul hide?

Tears broke through my eyelids—
an unstoppable waterfall.
Out of nowhere,
water drops fell upon my face,
embracing my tears,
kissing my cheeks—
apologies from another world.

The sky donned a velvet dress,
inlaid with falling stars,
smiling gently,
shining bright.
Even darkness
can still give light;
for an instant,
everything was hushed—
only the sound of calmness,
peace,
and rain
was loud.

  1. This poem is incredible. I have no other words. The part about the rain feeling like an apology… I’ve never read anything like that. You have a true gift. Please never stop writing. The world needs to hear your voice.
